Although the “formal”, structured part of our Master Key Experience is nearly complete, we added another layer of learning this week! There is no stress though, as the new layer is the “Law of Least Effort” from Deepak Chopra! It takes LESS effort to succeed than it does to FAIL!
This addition was a blessing for me last year as I went through the Master Key Experience and again this week, I found it to be tissue light because it just melted into what I have already been creating in myself – what I have been becoming.
We wrote these 3 components on index cards, and added them to the growing stack which I flash through several times a day. I also rediscovered the 3 i had tucked into the visor in my car. They have traveled with me all year and still, at red lights – and other pauses – I read through them to burn them into my subconscious. Why? They are brilliant!
ACCEPTANCE – “I will practice Acceptance. Today I will accept people, situations, circumstances, and events as they occur. I will know that this moment is as it should be, because the whole universe is as it should be. I will not struggle against the whole universe by struggling against this moment. My acceptance is total and complete. I accept things as they are in this moment, not as I wish they were.”
Acceptance makes things so easy. I know … I just KNOW … that everything IS as it should be. I can relax.
RESPONSIBILITY – “Having accepted things as they are, I will take Responsibility for my situation and for all those events I see as problems. I know that taking responsibility means not blaming anyone of anything for my situation (and this includes myself). I also know that every problem is an opportunity in disguise, and this alertness to opportunities allows me to take this moment and transform it into a greater benefit.”
Every decision I make – even if it’s to make NO conscious decision illustrates that I do indeed have “response – ability“! I can choose. I observe. I change the way I look at things and – voila! – the things I look at change!
DEFENSELESSNESS – “Today my awareness will remain established in Defenselessness. I will relinquish the need to defend my point of view. I will feel no need to convince or persuade others to accept my point of view. I will remain open to all points of view and not be rigidly attached to any one of them.”
I cherish the role of non-judgmental observer. It fits me to my core and this Law wraps around me like a hug.
This paragraph from Emerson’s essay on Self-Reliance continues to strike a chord with me this week as well:
“What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think. This rule, equally arduous in actual and in intellectual life, may serve for the whole distinction between greatness and meanness. It is the harder, because you will always find those who think they know what is your duty better than you know it. It is easy in the world to live after the world’s opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but, the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.”
Thanks for joining me. There will be more next week. Promise!
