Cobwebs, Clutter, and Hidden Treasure

We all know about cobwebs and clutter. The physical things we see every day and the intangible ones that appear in our thoughts, spirits, and habits. How do I describe them?

Physical cobwebs: neglected… forgotten… ignored… hidden treasure.

Physical clutter: out of control… taken for granted… suffocating… hidden treasure.

Intangible cobwebs: unused strengths. and skills … abandoned hopes… a hidden treasure.

Intangible clutter: layers of limiting experiences … emotional baggage… hidden treasure.

We can deal with our subconscious cobwebs by observing and then clearing them away in order to design the lives we want. We can take a feather duster to these cobwebs, delicately removing layer upon layer until we reveal the sparkle of a memory… the glint of a forgotten hope… the sunbeam of an awakening. Hidden treasure!

And the clutter? Sometimes decluttering isn’t as gentle as using a feather duster. Sometimes it takes surprise… trauma… or challenge… to break off the layers like the cobwebs.

The hidden treasure? Lightness… breath… freedom… and opportunity!

Got cobwebs? You don’t have to answer that – we ALL do. Both kinds, I’ll bet, but especially the intangible, elusive kind. How do we start to clear them away? I’d recommend silence. Take some time to just be in silence and observe what floats through the rooms of your mind.

Got elusive, inner clutter? You really don’t have to answer that one. Even very neat people have clutter that’s been given to them by others, from the time they were little. Why do we feel we have to carry it around with us? It may have served a purpose at one time, yet now it’s a definite hindrance.

Well, we really don’t have to keep it. And that’s a hidden treasure in itself! We have a choice. It may take some time too – like the cobwebs – but it will be SO worth it. And, there’s even a process that speeds the clearing immensely. Rather like the turbo-speed feather duster – I use it all the time.

Use your imagination and go after the cobwebs and clutter. It’s worth it!

Enjoy your journey.
