Week 16: Happiness, Harmony, the World Within & Life!

multitaskMultitasking! Something that is becoming more and more the NORM in many people’s lives these days. There are times when it feels OVERWHELMINGLY DIFFICULT and then there are times when it is EFFORTLESS! Yes? I never stopped to wonder about that. About the “why” – until this week.

What was so special about this week? Well, this was a week of MKMMAmulti-tasking! Continue all the exercises we have been habituating for the last 15 weeks (creating the “compounding effect”!), PLUS observe, perpetrate and catalog multiple random acts of kindness on a daily basis. Oh, and also go about my daily life – which includes job, family, four-leggeds and volunteer work! Whew! and yet … it was effortless! Why?

Our exercise this week from the Master Key writings of Charles Haanel was – to ponder “the important fact that harmony and happiness are states of consciousness … ” (37) He tells us in (14) that “The conditions with which we meet in the world without, correspond to the conditions which we find in the world within.” (15) “…we can form our own mental images, through our own interior processes of thought … ” and thereby (16) “take our fate out of the hands of chance, and consciously make for ourselves the experiences which we desire. … Thinking is the one great cause in life.”

candles and stonesHere’s what I got from my reflections: Multitasking is a way of life – a familiar mode of operation these days. What it LOOKS LIKE in physical form (whether it frazzles me or flows) is directly related to my consciousness (or subconsciousness!) in terms of whether MY world WITHIN is decidedly happy & harmonious or awash with inner turmoil.

When I’m in the flow of harmony within – multitasking is effortless and natural. When I am resisting the flow, my days unfold in chaos and non-productivity. Introspection on the cause of either (especially the chaos part though) is enlightening – BUT – the remedy lies WITHOUT. At least THIS week.

By laser focusing my attention (and that of some 200 other MKMMA’ers) on the Virtue of Kindness – we have been enabled to observe, foster and nurture acts of kindness by others, FOR others, BY others for US etc. etc. etc! Truly, the more we give away, the more we receive … which we then … GIVE AWAY!

  • Deb I loved reading your blog post this week! We are all multi-taskers. Trying to do it all can sometimes be very overwhelming and then trying to notice yet another thing can be tough! Noticing kindnesses has actually been very enlightening. It’s not a “task” it’s a joy!!!! I’ve loved every minute of it and I’m so glad that I get to share it with you!!

  • Deb, It’s amazing what a profound affect our perspective has on our entire life. All this growth and stretching is having an impact.

  • It is amazing how just being aware of whether we are in harmony or not with ourselves can make such a difference. Like you, I had not stopped to give this much thought over the years. Now it seems rather obvious 🙂
