Shouldn’t I have know that I have permission to give MYSELF permission for … well, ANYTHING I want in life? Just one word has struck a HUGE crack this week, in the cement buddha that I’ve been chipping away at for weeks! I have PERMISSION!
This week I gave myself permission to change an exercise (one of several assignments or necessary chores) into a practice (an inherent part of one’s daily routine – eg the practice of yoga) by doing it backwards! Small switch – huge return!
What did I switch? The sit. Yup. The sit. Our practice of accessing Infinite Intelligence through silence and thought after reading the Master Key section. I admit, I have floundered with finding a consistent, enriching, empowering place for that exercise in my day. Until … I woke up! Literally. One night I read Part 17 before going to bed – and dozed off during what should have been “the sit”. Sigh …Â “I’ll do it in the morning.”
But …
When I woke up the next morning, it was zero outside, a little chilly in the house, and WAY warm under the covers! My intention to get up, find a place to sit and think, seemed doomed to succumb to the lure of staying under those blankets! (admit it – if you live in a cold climate – you know EXACTLY what I mean!)
But …
My mind was already awake! And once it’s awake, there’s no stopping it. It’s been that way my whole life. So … I didn’t. My body stayed right where it was, but my mind wandered off and it had a great adventure that morning! So – I decided to do it backwards. “Sit” before I rise in the morning – and then read my MK as soon as I get up.
Haanel taught us this week that, “Intuition usually comes in the Silence” (24) and “Intuition can be cultivated and developed; in order to do this it must be recognized and appreciated; if the intuitive visitor is given a royal welcome when he comes, he will come again; the more cordial the welcome the more frequent his visits will become …” (23) I finally RECOGNIZED it! Intuition has been “visiting” me for years and just this week I gave myself permission to recognize it. I’ve been looking in the wrong place for my “sit”. My clearest access to Spirit and Infinite Intelligence occurs before my body does anything to start the activities of the day.
It jump-starts my enthusiasm.
It shows me pictures of my new reality – with tweaks and details I never knew were there!
It revs me up to follow through on everything.
So … maybe I should’ve known all along that I had permission, but now I KNOW that I know! And I’m on a mission to give myself permission to be successful and “whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving harmonious and … HAPPY!” I now capitalize on my uniqueness, and celebrate my differences (it doesn’t feel backwards to ME!)
Deb it’s so great you found the best time and place for your sit. I too made a modification that so improved my sit this week. I added some relaxation/meditation music to my sit which really allowed me to block out the sounds of world around me and it was fantastic.
Deb, so glad you have found the perfect place for your ‘sit’! And it makes perfect sense to take advantage of the opportunity before the hustle and bustle of the day has a chance to intrude. Giving PERMISSION is an amazing thing, isn’t it? Your phrase of ‘with tweaks and details I never knew were there’ re: recognizing intuition hit home. Wow Deb I just love it!!! I love how you have finally found your perfect place for your sit! Our conversation last week, I could tell that it was a source of bother for you. Kathie and I threw out some ideas and while none of them were your answer, it opened your mind to FIND your answer and that’s exactly what our MasterMind is supposed to do! Great job this past week!!!!
