This week, for me, was one of small realizations. That, in itself, might not seem especially blog-worthy – yet, I’ve always been the kind of person who has denied myself the acceptance of “progress” or “success” unless it happened in a “holy smokes!” kind of size or significance. So … just to recognize … believe … and CELEBRATE … small realizations is, well, “holy smokes huge“!! My tiny “aha” moments happened all week in totally unrelated episodes that eventually amassed themselves for me into a cohesive whole.
Maybe it was the holidays, with their idiosyncratic schedules and orchestrated family gatherings. Maybe it was “THE NEW YEAR” dawning, with it’s blank slate, clean journal pages in a new book, yet really being not “linear” at all, but cyclical and ongoing. Maybe it was specific interactions with specific people – and my DIFFERENT responses to them. Maybe it was sitting in silence thinking about harmony, reading, reflecting … just living. Maybe it was “D: all of the above” which melted together in my mind, heart and spirit to awaken a new perspective on how this MKMMA journey really IS making a change in ME! OMG
I also watched the movie “Rudy” this week as part of our MKMMA assignments. We were to watch for the 4 tiny habits of “persistance”. What are they?
1. Having a definite purpose backed by a burning desire for its fulfillment. (I have my DMP!)
2. A definite plan, expressed in continuous action (I have my POA – plans of action!)
3. A mind closed tightly against all negative and discouraging influences, including negative suggestions of relatives, friends & acquaintances. (I have my POA – positive mental attitude!)
4. Friendly alliances with one or more persons who will encourage one to follow through with both plan and purpose. (I have my mastermind colleagues!)
He clearly has the edge in rock-solid definite purpose and burning desire. (I did amp mine up a notch – see last week’s post – it’s working!) And the negativities and discouragements he overcame outstrip mine – but there was enough “essence of similarity” to flick on the lightbulb of recognition and relation. hmmmm
So … I learned more about persistence from Rudy this week and I learned more about MYSELF by cultivating the observer within – and allowing myself to believe those observations. It’s given me a clearer perspective on just how 2015 is going to unfold. I’m so psyched to watch my future self take the lead and walk us both through this amazing journey!
Thanks for visiting. More next week. I promise! Happy New Year!

How wonderful Deb! Congrats you did a wonderful the last couple of months. You where Rudi but you stick to your plan. So now al those wonderful things are happening. You are a nature’s greatest miracle.
Happy New Year, Deb!
I´m glad to read how well it has started out for You and look forward to reading more of Your thoughts!
Loved the movie and can really relate to Your experience of learning more about persistence from it.
This step by step approach we enjoy in the course where our progress is revealed rather then promises really fits my personality and learning style.
Thanks for a great post that somehow made me think of something I wrote last summer, before MKMMA, I think You might enjoy: http://beinggolden.com/the-virtue-of-fulfilling-small-dreams/
Mahalo, I appreciate You!
Happy New Year, Claes!
Thanks for the kind words. I read your “being golden” post and just kept nodding my head “yes!” and smiling as I read! Small goals accomplished are DEFINITELY the way to train our subconscious! Maybe we could build “mini-DMPs” into the next MKMMA?!
Great Blog Debs – I too watched Rudy and really enjoyed it!! He’s burning desire shone through the movie from the start. I look forward to reading more of your blogs – thanks for sharing.
Wonderful insight Deb! I enjoyed your honest thoughts!
