Week Ten – Social Proof!

My brain feels like THIS!
My brain feels like THIS!

This week Mandino, Haanel, Emerson, Emmet Fox, MKMMA, habits and everything ELSE I’ve been working with/on for the last 10 weeks met …. TECHNOLOGY!! It was not pretty – and yet, technology did not rule the day!

I spent most of the day on Thursday in 2 visits to the “Genius Bar” at my nearest Apple Store (which isn’t that “near” – its 20 minutes away …) One glitch I had on my laptop. One. OK – maybe two. Still … the tech support on the phone last week couldn’t resolve it despite a complete reinstall of the OS, so I was confident my empathetic tech – in person – could take care of things.

Even with the chipper music playing (to keep everyone’s positive energy up, I’m thinking) I was flagging in my enthusiasm as the minutes turned into hours and the tech kept trying things with no results. Final solution? Install a new (and this time an upgrade) OS and drag/drop selected items from my backup (which they were thinking had something in it which negated all the good the previous reinstall had accomplished). OK. Everything should be fine, right?

blankscreenWell, not exactly, because with the new OS comes all the blank-slate “opportunities” of having to remember ALL the bookmarks that I had on the tool bar —  ALL the passwords that were politely saved so I DIDN’T have to remember them (yes, I have a cheat sheet) — ALL the files that used to be on my desktop, but have now disappeared because the tech went farther back in my “Time Machine” to capture files to import.

Did I say “AAUGH*&%#)$@L!(#!!!“?

I did NOT. Because I had the resources of Og and Haanel and Emerson. I accepted obstacles as my challenges. I substituted negative thoughts for positive ones. I persisted until I succeeded (which is still a work in progress because things are still MIA …) There was no option other than to move forward and … “in truth, one step at a time is not too difficult”. exploding-head-93

I appreciate all the work my tech supporters offered (yah, after so many hours, I went through THREE geniuses! LOL). I appreciate the autonomy (one of my PPNs) I had that day to spend the necessary time resolving the issue without conflicting commitments. I am even trying to appreciate the opportunity to recreate my virtual world on the blank slate of the new OS (which is a work in progress, since many things are still MIA!) … “Do it now, Do it now, Do it now!” …

We really CAN be all we WILL to be!

Thanks for visiting. More next week (with easier technology?). I promise.
